This is the public research grammar for how Mediator draws evaluation. It names the nouns that may appear, the edges that may connect them, and the point at which a picture must yield to a receipt. Internal engines and private control graphs stay internal.
Overview
A graph is allowed to show provenance, authority, state, failure and cutover. It is not allowed to convert a drawing into a decision. Solid edges carry effect. Dashed edges carry observation. Dotted edges carry plans. A gate is a proof boundary. Unlabeled arrows are noise. Color-only semantics are noise. A beautiful diagram that outranks a receipt is theater.
Twelve nouns: intent, source, evidence, realization, identity, authority, policy, state, execution, observation, failure or recovery, and publication or receipt.Architecture by noun accumulation is an anti-pattern. Each noun has to earn its place in a specific graph.
Solid: effect, mutation, or an authority-bearing transition.Dashed: observation, evidence, projection, or advisory relation. Dotted: planned, hypothetical, watch, or draft. Gate: a proof or invariant boundary. Observation edges do not become authority by being drawn thicker.
When an edge is material it carries a verb: derives from, observes, corroborates, contradicts, binds to, identifies, owns, authorizes, governs, mutates, transfers, projects, depends on, fences, invalidates, supersedes, reconstructs, promotes, publishes, or receipts.A line without a verb is unclassified.
Provenance DAG.Authority map. State lifecycle. Failure and recovery. Transfer geometry. Cutover. These are evaluation views, not product screens. A graph type that cannot name its stop condition is not ready to publish.
Scope.Current state. Delta. Evidence quality. Authority and owner. Integrity family. Failure and risk. Next proof. Receipt. Watch or reopen trigger. Skip a step and the picture is ahead of the record.
Executive: one status, one sentence, one dominant graph.Operator: families, blockers, receipts. Engineer: invariants, transitions, tests. Forensic: sources, commits, traces, reproduction. Zoom does not invent facts that the lower level does not have.
Unlabeled arrows.Treating observation as authority. Drawing external parties as internal components. Letting coverage percentages grade truth. Color-only meaning. Promoting a generated frame, a plan, or a diagram into live control.
